Mobile networks in the measurement dataset

A mobile network is the operator a phone attaches to. 5G Signal Finder groups observations by that operator so coverage can be explored without mixing brands together.

What “network” means here

When a phone camps on a cell, it is on a specific public land mobile network. That identity is what lets measurements be grouped under a carrier instead of poured into one national average. The brand painted on a store can match that identity, or it can be a trading name in front of it.

Roaming adds another split: the network you are attached to and the SIM’s home operator are not always the same. A careful dataset keeps that distinction. This website does not guess it. The production API is the source for whatever identity is published.

How the site will organize operators

The coverage architecture is country, then carrier, and country, then city. A carrier page is for one operator inside one country. A city page is for observations in that place, across the operators that have data there. Both routes exist. Neither is filled with sample brands.
